Their depiction of their customers is actually more flattering than what I imagined.
That was actually a great writeup.
I wonder what they think about their Pipeline Punch customers. Specifically, how much overlap is there with, y’know, the memes?
Oh no i had a pipeline punch once.
Did you start transitioning yet?
“Monster Green shoppers are likely younger (Gen-Z/Millennial/Gen-X) male, lower income & Caucasian (skews Hispanic).”
Wtf kinda bullshit statement is that? No old Gen-Zers but young millennials like monster? White people mainly like it but also skews Hispanic? Like how? It’s all incel nectar anyways.
As someone who’s done a few U&A segmentations - it’s likely that the consumer base they’re describing has an over index of Hispanic people relative to the overall market. 10% base, 20% segment kind of thing. So there’s a slightly higher representation within the core segment even if the overall description remains dominantly caucasian.
Having inherited some McKinsey and BCG segments, this is how they think. Even if it’s an outdated approach to segmentation.
Yes, my job is soul sucking - how did you know?
Jokes on them. I’m an almost 40 year old white woman who has a sleep disorder. I buy them because it’s cheaper at the gas station when I buy two at the same time. Not because of the taste. >_<
Younger as in less than 40 or so for gen X and below.
Also you can be Caucasian and Hispanic in demographic standards
You mean monster energy targets their branding and advertising to people who are more likely to buy their products? Unbelievable /s
I don’t know why we’re acting like young poor white men haven’t always been the main demographic for this drink.
I mean… They aren’t wrong.
I’m more surprised by the fact that people actually drink Monster at all.
My coworkers basically live off of Monster energy drinks. Those energy drinks mess with my heart too much, so I stay far away.
I have ADHD and energy drinks have been helping me focus when I don’t have access to meds. Somehow Monster is the cheapest among the select few brands that I actually like the taste of (and a lot of people shit on it because of the taste – I guess it shows how subjective it is). I’m not happy about financially supporting a corp that makes money on getting people addicted to sugar, but I can’t deny the effects the drinks have on me
I’m visiting Ohio right now. There is Monster EVERYWHERE.
Huh yeah there is less of it around now that im not in Ohio. Weird
I prefer NOS myself. It doesn’t taste like toxic chemical sludge (even if it still is toxic chemical sludge).
Sometimes I’m curious as to the taste, but it only come in half liters and I would most likely toss out most of that, so I’ve never bothered
Redbull, Rockstar, and Monster all taste about the same; but IDK if the ingredients–like taurine–are the same outside the US or if that would alter the taste significantly.
Taurine is in red bull over here, so it should be in monster. I would probably try one had they smaller sizes.
Hilarious
I was hoping for more user stories.
