I am unclear as to why so many grown adults are willing to tolerate and even defend literal death cults.
Childhood indoctrination. In the US it probably begins before Sunday school at home with child-safe bible-story books, highly illustrated.
That was the case for my brothers and I. I remember an illustrated children’s bible, and also a book that would play a number of different songs if you pressed the buttons. My favorites were “We are climbing Jacob’s ladder” and “I come to the garden alone”.
I was abused by southern baptists. I will never be okay.
