Came to say this. So beyond the time. How did this become a thing anywhere before america. He we are threatened on all sides by the health insurance gap for decades and our politicians are fine with all our enemies surpasing us.

What a strange way to see the world around you: “all our enemies surpassing us”, “how did this become a thing anywhere before america”

Your country is really young so it’s normal others countries got it before you. And why this “ennemy” flag on us? Can’t we have free health care without becoming an enemy of the USA?

A LOT of things Americans love to say (globally, not necessarily you) as being “the first in the world” or "the best of the world " is usually true if the world was just America. But it’s far from being true.

sorry this was sarcasm tilted toward my more progressive american brethen or older ones. There was a big thing about gaps in the eighties and there is a simpsons episode that makes fun of it with these songs the piano player plays at the point they are at the capitol called cesspool on the potomac. Unfortunately I cannot find the relevant clip. So it was literally like politicians saying we can’t abide an X gap where X was size of the military, deficit, some random technology considered important, etc. Usually in terms of military capability.

Healthcare is SOCIALISM! I would MUCH rather Pay 10x MORE Per Month to get DENIED while my Insurance Agent gets a NEW YACHT then to pay LESS and get MORE Coverage!

Who in the US government is going to do this? Who is going to have both the power to steamroll the fascists in the next several elections (assuming we still have them) and have the balls to tell the insurance companies to pound sand and convince 60% of the electorate that this would benefit them actually?

    The list is short.

Goddamned right. Every fucking time we go to the doctor or something similar we make sure the services are covered in our plan and every time we end up with a bill between 600-1000 dollars that we have to waste time contesting because someone at some step used the wrong code or whatever. EVERY TIME.

In fact, and I am not even joking, I literally got billed today for an appointment for my son that was supposed to be a $20 copay, and now they are asking for $900. I work at a multi-billion dollar company and this is the sort of insurance nonsense I deal with. I don’t even blame my employer either. It should never fall on their shoulders to provide this service.

It’s the most absurd shit to have to deal with, and it’s so consistently and thoroughly broken that I simply cannot believe this has not sparked a revolution.
