I didn’t think we’d need to wheel this one back out again but it is what it is.

I’m glad that at least one oppressor gets to the “find out” part. I’m sad it’s not mainly the people they’ve been oppressing that are doing it.

Let’s hope that changes when it’s the others’ turn.

      • That’s not how it works. Oppressors dethroned by US meddling (whether military, intelligence, or a combination of both) will always be replaced by other oppressors and/or civil war sooner or later.

There’s literally no upside to this imperialist mess for regular people of any involved country.

SUPER lucrative for arms dealers, mercenaries, and the politicians they own, though.

          • I was referring to the fungible nature of oppression, assuming that you’re against oppression itself rather than just the specific oppressors who may or may not find out.

My apologies for the misunderstanding if you do NOT in fact care whether or not oppression will be decreased as a result of this fresh batch of war crimes.

I’m happy that the people who built tools of terror (that are of particular significance to me) are getting fucked. I’m not happy which way/fashion they’re getting fucked. We’re on the same page here.

I’m not gonna write paragraphs about the nature of oppression and theory of state building, I don’t think that’s gonna help anyone. Simply stating my feelings about one particular oppressor. I don’t even know if they’re gonna be dethroned. But I do know the people of that country (and those of perpetrating ones) have infinitely more power over their future than my words on here. And my actions support neither side.
