Worcester City Manager Eric Batista said in a statement that the city “will never” target individuals passed on their immigration status and that city officials including police do not assist with ICE civil detainments “but may not interfere with it.”

“However, it is the municipality and department’s responsibility to uphold the law and protect the peace of our community,” Batista said. “The series of events was no doubt disturbing and the footage of a family being separated is harrowing … My heart goes out to all those impacted by today’s events and the growing tension we all feel due to the national political climate.”

    Yeah, fuck that asshole.

The job of those cops was to preserve the peace of the citizens of that town, not hassle citizens for resisting an illegal act.

    Fucking gICEtapo at it again

And people give me shit for saying that cops are the primary target when starting a revolution.

Nuremberg for the largest part was a sham. Countless criminals who were integral to the Nazi regime were apologized as merely being “followers” and subsequently were given high positions is western Germany in the police, intelligence, justice, politics, economy and media. The US wanted the Fascists to maintain a hold to prevent any form of socialist or communist movement gaining hold. Iirc. initially the allies didn’t intend to prosecute anyone and it required some initiatives to even get them to prosecute someone.

“So I must emphasize, we are dealing with a powerful enemy, and again, I am not anti-American or un-American. I think there are plenty of good people in America, but there are also plenty of bad people in America and the bad ones are the ones who seem to have all the power and be in these positions to block things that you and I need. Because this is the situation, you and I have to preserve the right to do what is necessary to bring an end to that situation, and it doesn’t mean that I advocate violence, but at the same time I am not against using violence in self-defense. I don’t even call it violence when it’s self-defense, I call it intelligence.” - Malcolm X

the city “will never” target individuals passed [based] on their immigration status

I spent too long trying to parse this sentence to figure out what it meant. My tired brain declares this a typo in the original article because I don’t see any alternative.

Also, fuck ICE. Interfere until it breaks.

If they are ignoring due process, already stated they will abuse citizens, and arresting bystanders, I’d say the risk is very close to fatal for good people to resist ICE. If they’re willing to put your life on the line, they should be met with equal risks.
